Alternative Spring Break opportunity- Living Lands and Waters' Million Trees Project

University of Iowa students can take advantage of  alternative spring break opportunity March 14-18  as part of  Living Lands and Water’s Million Trees Project, helping prepare seedlings to restore native hardwood forest in valleys of our nation’s large rivers.

The alternative spring break Wednesday, March 14 through Sunday, March 18 is being conducted by Art Bettis, associate professor in the Department of Geoscience. Students will spend two days  at Living Lands and Waters Moline facilty helping prepare seedlings of native hardwood trees for distribution to groups participating in the Million Trees Project.

Students will be helping  learn the importance of the Million Trees Project and similar native vegetation restoration efforts, earning one semester hour credit by enrollingl on ISIS,  12:021 WKA Spring Break Service Learning Trip.
