Earth Month 2013: UIEC Treasure Trade

Earth Month 2013: UIEC Treasure Trade

UIEC Treasure Trade

April 11, 2013 - 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Hubbard Park, IMU

Come join the University of Iowa Environmental Coalition for the Treasure Trade! The purpose of the Treasure Trade is to encourage conscious waste-management practices and mitigate the amount of reusable goods that reach the landfill every day- by 'shopping' in Hubbard Park! Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to bring used items (clothing, accessories, appliance, books, etc) to the event. UIEC will set them out for display, and then partipants can choose one treasure for every item they bring. Together we can learn about responsible consumerism and really understand that "one man’s trash is another man's treasure." All un-swapped items left at the end of the event will be donated to Iowa City Goodwill.

If you wish to drop off items for the Treasure Trade you can drop them off April 8 - 10, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Student Organization Offices, 2nd floor of the Iowa Memorial Union. Rain location is the South Room of the IMU.
