Earth Month Bike Commuter Challenge
It’s Earth Month and April is great time to commute to work and get to class on a bike! Do you have what it takes to win the Earth Month Bike Challenge?
The University of Iowa Earth Month Bike Challenge, April 6 to April 27, is open to all UI faculty, staff and students. There are both team and individual competitions this year, as well as photo contest. To sign up, visit http://sustainability.uiowa.edu/earth-month-2014-bike-commuter-challenge/ or bike.uiowa.edu. Team captains and cyclists will submit miles ridden and days ridden each week on the website.
The winning team (see photo of 2013 winner Team Myelo) with the most average daily will get bragging rights and a totally rad trophy -- but only until next year's Bike Challenge! Prizes will also be awarded for the individual and photo challenges.
Get your bike ready for spring at the Bike Tune-up Day 3-5 p.m. Friday, April 18 (postponed from April 4 due to rain/wind)on the Pentacrest, where you can also make your own bike powered smoothie.
The Bike Challenge, part of UI Earth Month, is sponsored by the Office of Sustainability and the Bicycle Advisory Committee. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
