Thanks to everyone who participated in the University of Iowa Earth Month Bike Challenge in April! Trophies were awarded to the top three teams with the highest point totals. Team Dev Null won the team challenge, followed by Tachy Tires in second place and PsyClists in third place.

In the individual challenge, Mark Wilson topped the leader board with 1327 points and won a free bike tune up from the Broken Spoke. Anthony Lucio placed second and earned a bike light and bell, while Terry Bell placed third and received a shirt and hat from the Iowa City Bike Library. Sundus Yousuf and Carol Johnk won Active Endeavors gift cards in the photo contest.

See the Earth Month Bike Challenge page for final leader boards and more information.

Cyclists also won shirts, Yoptopia gift cards and water bottles in a weekly drawing for logging trips and miles.

The challenge was intended to encourage bike commuting on campus, showing that riding your bike is a fun, healthy way to get around town. Plus it's good for the environment, and helping reduce carbon emissions, one of the University of Iowa's 2020 Vision sustainability goals.
