UI engineers employ environmental ingenuity to reduce water pollution

An article in the June Iowa Alumni Magazine tells how groundbreaking and award-winning alumni of the University of Iowa College of Engineering have designed and installed specially constructed wetlands that efficiently and effectively purify water, and, in the process, help restore the millions of acres of such areas destroyed by human development in the United States.

Several UI alumni recognize the way water pollution contributes to this pandemic problem, and they have emerged as leaders in an innovative and growing field that aims to restore contaminated bodies of water.
