Dead and dying trees are removed at Kent Park for biofuel for the UI

Miller Logging from Dubuque, Iowa began a harvest of dead and dying conifer trees at Kent Park in Johnson County, and the wood will be chipped and burned at the UI's Main Power Plant. This is part of the University of Iowa Biomass Fuel Project exists to source renewable energy in support of the University's 2020 Vision, specifically Task 2, greening our energy portfolio.
