Abby is a first year student studying Environmental Policy and she is also working towards her Sustainability certificate. Abby is very passionate about sustainability because she believes the current world is in a state of crisis. She thinks that not only are we in crisis, but the inequality already present will be magnified significantly with a climate crisis. Without change, she believes our world will face extreme misfortune and desperation, especially if the world system does not change. She is currently researching how much of the UI's food purchases qualify as Real Food so that the University can establish a baseline for the Real Food Challenge, which is defines Real Food as local/regional, ecologically sustainable, humane, and fair.
