Emma Schopen is a junior, majoring in Environmental Science on the Biosciences track, along with a minor in Biology and GIS. Emma is passionate about sustainability because, as humans, she believes we are speeding up natural processes more than the earth can handle and are causing issues like climate change to occur. If we want the earth to remain in a livable condition for us and our future generations, we must live sustainably!
Emma is working as a research assistant at the Ashton Prairie Living Laboratory. She is currently doing water quality testing on the creek that runs by the prairie, and has been doing this testing biweekly since the summer of 2021. Emma and her team are currently preparing to do vegetation surveys on the Prairie during this upcoming summer.
