Hallie Lartius is a second-year at the University of Iowa, studying Global Health and Economic Policy with a minor in French. She is one of four Communications Interns who work together to manage the Office’s website, newsletter, social media, and press relations. She specializes in social media strategy and community partnerships. As co-diversity liaison, she works with diversity actors on campus and in Iowa City to create and share opportunities for diversity at the Office. She is also the co-creator of Underrepresented Students in Sustainability, a new program at the Office of Sustainability designed to make mentoring opportunities more accessible to undergraduates from minority or disadvantaged backgrounds exploring careers in sustainability and the environment. Outside of the Office, she is the President of Global Health Club, a tutor at the Student-Athlete Center, and a student representative for the Presidential Charter Committee on Teaching. After graduating, she plans to get a master’s degree in Social Work and to work in community advocacy.
