Outdoor Service Projects
In celebration of Earth Month, the University of Iowa students volunteer to work with Landscape Services on environmental service projects such as invasive species removal, tree planting and trash pick up.
Here are some scheduled projects with locations:
Wednesday, April 12 9 am-noon, garlic mustard pull at the timber south of Boyd Law Building.
Friday, April 14 1 pm-4 pm, garlic mustard pull, timber south of Boyd Law Building.
Tuesday, April 18 9 am-noon, garlic mustard pull/trash pickup. North end of Madison St. at the Arboretum.
Thursday, April 20 9 am-noon, tree seedling planting, west of Boyd Law. Meet at dock area.
Sunday, April 23 10 am-noon, Hawkeye Day of Caring with , garlic mustard pull at south side of Boyd Law.
Monday, April . 25 and Tues. Apr 26 9 am-noon, prairie flower planting. Meet along Hawkins Drive. West of Ronald McDonald House.
Thursday, April 27, 1 pm-4 pm, tree planting west of College of Public Health, Parking Lot 42.
Friday, April 28 (Arbor Day) 10 am: plant a tree in Darlene Clausen’s honor University Services Building: tree planting at Reinow Hall 1:30 pm.
Depending on interest more events could be added. Gloves and tools will be provided. A minimum of five volunteers/project needs to be achieved or the event will be cancelled for that day.
