Biomass Fuel Sources

The main component of the Biomass Fuel Project is the identification, testing, and growing of biomass feedstock options. The main sources of biomass feedstock are dedicated energy crops, woody material, and organic industrial by-products. The University of Iowa seeks to expand biomass feedstock options in Iowa while providing a diverse porfolio to absorb any changes in services and pricing.
