Community Education and Outreach

The University of Iowa Biomass Fuel Project engages a variety of audiences in outreach and education events. Although the planned outcome of the Biomass Fuel Project is to meet the second goal of the Vision 2020, the Biomass Fuel Project also strives to engage students and professionals in educational events on renewable energy and energy dedicated crops.

One of the main ways we engage the Iowan community is the numerous planting and field day events in the fair weather months. The university will frequently send out information and post around the community dates in which the community is invited to one of the pilot miscanthus plots to view and learn more about the dedicated energy crops. The best way to find out when our next field day will occur is signing up for our newsletter.
