Stitch Your Style: Upcycled Embroidery Workshop

Stitch Your Style: Upcycled Embroidery Workshop promotional image

Give your wardrobe a fresh new look at this free, hands-on embroidery workshop held inside the Old Capitol Museum. This program is offered in partnership with the University of Iowa Cross-Stitching and Embroidery Club and in conjunction with the Old Capitol Museum's latest exhibit installation, Thrift Style.

All are welcome, no experience needed. We'll provide materials and guidance, just bring an item you'd like to personalize. Whether it be a well-loved pair of jeans, a plain hat that could use some inspiration, a jacket that needs a new life, or if you're just popping in with what you're wearing, you'll learn simple embroidery stitches and techniques to help you upcycle with confidence.

Stay for a few stitches or settle in to create, connect, and style sustainably.
