Karis Patton
Karis, a third-year Sustainability student, has always found her peace in the outdoors and feels a deep-rooted passion to protect our planet Earth. Throughout her youth, she spent countless hours running around in the woods, climbing mountains, and attending the University of Iowa’s summer wildlife camps. She has integrated these values into her education journey, as well as in her work career at the University of Iowa climbing wall. Aside from this, Karis enjoys dancing, learning guitar, bike rides, growing plants, and trying different arts and crafts with repurposed material. In the future, she’d like to have a career outside, doing anything that will make a positive difference on Earth. Karis’ mission with the OSE is to encourage student engagement and harmony with their environments through unique activities and sustainable crafting, with the intention to share her fiery human-to-earth connection with everyone she meets.
