Approximately 70 students and staff came to Fall Bike Tune Up Day Friday, Sept. 19, gathering in Hubbard Park. Cyclists enjoyed bike-powered smoothies while World of Bikes staff did brake and gear adjustments, tire inflation, chain tightening and other minor repairs at the event.

Many attendees signed up for the new UI Recreational Biking Club, a group focused on non-competitive cycling, weekly rides and bike education. The club aims to encourage and spread the growing bike culture throughout the University of Iowa and Iowa City. You can join their Facebook group, Uiowa Recreational Biking Club, to start participating in their Sunday rides!

Thanks to World of Bikes, New Pioneer Market, University of Iowa Environmental Coalition for their support for the tune up day. The UI Urban and Regional Planning Student Association and UI Bicycle Advisory Committee also helped sponsor this event.
