The University of Iowa Office of Sustainability and Environment is excited to share its new space in Jessup Hall with the campus community!

The Office’s headquarters has relocated from the Communications Center to 3 Jessup Hall on the ground floor in the former location of ID Card Services. Doors open to students and the campus on Monday, December 2, 2019 for anyone who wants to explore sustainability at Iowa, from learning about steps the University is taking toward a more eco-friendly future, to opportunities to get involved with student groups and research projects.

“We’re excited to move onto the Pentacrest where we will be more centrally located and student accessible,” says Stratis Giannokouros, director of the Office of Sustainability and the Environment.

Because the Communications Center is slated for demolition in 2020, it was time for the Office of Sustainability to find a new home. The new Office location in Jessup Hall will have all the charm and character that the Office has enjoyed in the Communications Center with new, beautiful art installments by Creative Coordinator Austin Montelius representing the Office’s commitment to inspiring sustainability in the campus community.

The new Jessup Hall Office will house our Director Stratis Giannokouros, Campus Recycling Coordinator Beth MacKenzie, Sustainability Program Manager Blake Rupe, and the Office’s 10 interns.
