University of Iowa Parking and Transportation has partnered with the Eastern Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG) to offer discounted bus passes for university students, faculty, and staff to ride 380 Express. The discounted bus passes will be available to university faculty and staff employed 50% or greater and all students. University riders can begin purchasing the discounted bus passes on October 11, 2019. Details about how to retrieve your discount code can be found on the Parking and Transportation website at transportation.uiowa.edu/380express.  

Ridership on the service has steadily grown and is an affordable, flexible, and low stress option for completing the commute between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. The discount passes are offered at an average of 45% off the price of the general public rates. The partnership with ECICOG is an example of the collaboration that Parking and Transportation regularly engages in to improve the experience of working and studying at the University of Iowa.

“We know the 380 construction is going to be stressful and significant delays are to be expected during peak commute hours. Supporting this option provides convenient, flexible, and low-stress travel at a very affordable rate,” says Michelle Ribble, Commuter Programs manager.  

Parking and Transportation is excited to offer this benefit to university students, faculty, and staff commuting from the Cedar Rapids area. Commuter Programs has partnered with Iowa City Transit and Coralville Transit for almost 20 years to offer a discounted rate (UPASS) for city transit. The UPASS has encouraged university members to consider and continue to use transit as a primary travel mode.
